Guatemala

We had every intention of taking in the sights of Guatemala for a week or so before heading to Spanish classes somewhere along the road. But the more we learned about the country, the more we learned we couldn’t miss. We ended up spending 7 weeks in the country – exploring the ancient ruins, paddling through eastern jungles, and lounging in lakeside villages. Guatemala took us completely by surprise, and what was supposed to be stopover quickly became a life highlight.
