A Sumatran Adventure
Indonesia was a last-minute decision. With one month left on our round-the-world journey, we decided we were too close to NOT go. We knew we wouldn’t have time to do the country justice, so we selected Sumatra for our one-week sojourn. Without planning or preparation, we weren’t sure what to expect – but the island of Sumatra greeted us with tropical jungles, endangered and rare animals, eye-catching architecture, and a laid-back vibe that we’d missed since our South America days. We only made two stops in Indonesia, but they were highlights of our trip, and only whetted our appetite for our next opportunity to visit.
