An Overdue Honeymoon
After a month backpacking independenty in Africa, Tanzania is where we turned our trip on its head. We celebrated our honeymoon by spoiling ourselves at a nice hotel on a beach in Zanzibar, and took a break by joining a guided tour all the way down to South Africa. But this was only after taking the backroads through the country, learning that Tanzanians used a different calendar and clock (the hard way) and seeing life close-up from endless bus rides and boat journeys. Tanzania is a popular travel destination for a reason, but leaving the coast and heading inland proved just as impressive.
