We’re Aaron and Lyndi – pretty unexceptional in most ways, except that we went budget backpacking together for 3 1/2 years and neither of us killed the other one. In fact, we found out we’re pretty darn compatible and got hitched in 2011.

Our adventures together started back in 2005 when Lyndi served Aaron a margarita at Tijuana’s Bar & Grill in Dallas, Texas. Aaron was intrigued that Lyndi had already burned through a passport and spent the last few years abroad, and Lyndi thought Aaron was really hot. Match made in heaven.

From there we were inseparable. It didn’t take much convincing for Aaron to sell all his belongings and join Lyndi on her next trip – this time south of the border. The plan was for a year or until we ran out of money – whichever came first. As it so happened – neither did. Chance and luck – with perhaps a dash of foolishness – meant we found jobs in Peru for a few years and saved up enough money to keep going.

Eventually, a “normal life” called. We moved to Portland, Oregon to be close to family and friends and now take more “traditional” trips together. When we first set out in 2008, we couldn’t have known how our trip would change our lives, our perspectives and our relationship. You’ll find all of our blogs that we kept on this website (for better or worse) – and we continue to add to it – but a few of our favorites are linked below. Some are funny, some are reflective, but they are all capsules of some of the incredible memories and lessons we have encountered along the way.
