A Well Worn Trail
Italy is a top tourist destination for a good reason. Remains of one of the world’s strongest civilizations are well-marked and easy to visit; dozens of bucket-list towns and villages are accessible on a short trip; and the romance of the Italian mountains and hillsides are a strong pull. Though we usually like to travel off the beaten path, the well-worn tourist trail was everything we’d hoped for. Traveling off-season made Italy affordable and helped us avoid crushing crowds – but the trip is worth it no matter what time of year.
